FEEDBACK FROM BIGSTOCKPHOTO.COM

Woke up this morning to find an email from bigstockphoto with a status update about my uploads. After signing in to bigstockphoto, i clicked on uploads and guess what... theyve all been accepted and uploaded!!!!

although, on 3 of 4 pictures it says note: slight blurrieness, better at smaller sizes. Not too much of a problem, but at least all of my pictures were accepted. I actually thought id get at least 1 picture not approved, with me not doing any photo work at all beforehand, but this is not the case and i am pleased that they were uploaded with no problems!!!

Now to move on to the video work!

PICTURE 4 POST PRODUCTION

PHOTOSHOP PROCESS

1. For this picture, the colours were bland again, as it was hazy and the photo was taken at the same place as the two that were merged. This photo is just one photo of the cathedral. The colour levels were ok, i edited them slightly to make the whites a little less.
2. I also edited the hue/saturation again, as this needed doing. Now the picture has a lot more colour in it, and looks better.
3.I did not need to crop the image again, as i got all the cathedral in the shot, which not much blue sky space or houses. I think that with the houses, you can see the actual size of the building, as it is huge!.

On bigstockphoto.com, there werent many cathedral pictures on there, hence the reason i took photos of the cathedral as there was a gap in the market. The categories used for my photo was Architecture->Churches/religious, Places->European Cities, Places->travel. Using 3 categories means that more people will view my image and potentially buy it!

Keywords used->architecture, buildings, cathedral, lincoln, da vinci code, magna carta, magna, carta, church, christianity, religion, religious, landmark, old, historical, history,

Submission -> all my photos were submitted with sucess, although i am still waiting for approval from bigstockphoto

PICTURE 3 POST PRODUCTION

PHOTOSHOP PROCESS

1. For this picture, i took 2 photographs, so that i could make a large one by merging them together. I took my tripod, set t up and took a close picture of the bottom half of the cathedral, and then moved the camera up, and took a photo of the top half of the cathedral.
2. i put the two images onto one canvas, and used a combination of the clonestamp tool, and the heal tool to merge the two pictures together. it was harder than i thought as there was a lot of little parts that were always unaligned!, but i got there in the end, by resizing and chaning the perspectrive slightly.
3. I did not crop this image again, as the cathedral is the main part of the picture, so was not needed.
4. I adjusted the colour levels, and the saturation levels to brighten the picture up, as it was a hazy day, and the colours were a bit bland.

PICTURE 2 POST PRODUCTION

PHOTOSHOP PROCESS

1. For this picture, i thought that there wasnt much colour in it, and was looking very bland. i looked at the colour levels, but they were ok, i then saturated the image a lot more, to make the cathedral look colourful, and on the blue sky background, looks very good. There is a dark blue sky, making it look like the weather was really nice and hot (which it was!) and the yellow of the cathedral makes it stand out a lot!.
2. I also did not need to crop this image, as the photo was just the right size so that i got all of the cathedral in one shot; i did not have to merge two pictures together.

PICTURE 1 POST PRODUCTION

PHOTOSHOP PROCESS

1. For this picture, i removed the tree that was in the top right hand corner, as i wanted the main focal point to be the cathedral, and in my opinion, the tree was in the way. To do this i used the clone stamp tool to carefully remove the tree by cloning the sky, and painting over. i also clone stamped the tree that was on the cathedral, this was a little more difficult, as i had to clone a small part of the cathedral, and then paint over, there was a lot of detail on the cathedral so it was hard to keep the detail there.
2. I then looked at the colour levels function on photoshop, but there was a good mixture of whites and blacks, so i did not need to change this, however, i did change the saturation slightly, to give the cathedral more colour and make it look more aestheticaly pleasing.
3. I did not crop this image, as the photo was just the right size so that i got all of the cathedral in one shot; i did not have to merge two pictures together.
